Back at The Retreat Center

Having stayed with my family for a little while in Orange County, I arrived back at The Retreat Center late Wed night of last week. My Stepfather was cremated and the memorial services for him will take place in the near future at which point I will be returning to Orange County. It's upsetting when a family member dies...I really haven't had much experience with this. He was a good guy and will be missed.

My Stepfathers Passing

This past week my stepfather Charles Sandberg was hospitalized with pneumonia. After further tests it was discovered he had leukemia. From there his health rapidly spiraled downward. Early Wednesday morning he passed away. This all happened very suddenly and unexpectedly.

As a result of this, I left the Retreat Center early yesterday afternoon to be with my family in Orange County. I'll be back at the Retreat Center once everything is taken care of.

2nd Semester

We’ve been back here on the mountain training now for the past few weeks. I had a great vacation seeing my family and friends, but its nice to be back here with my brothers and back to our kung fu way of life.

My knee (ACL injury) is much better now. Over vacation my surgeon looked at it (one of my last check ups) and said it looked great. Last semester my injury really held me back and limited what all I could do. This semester there should be a lot of improvement as my knee gets closer to full recovery.
